In Brief The British vice-consul in Skopje, Macedonia, suggested that the Goce Delcev Folk Group, applying for visas to the International Dance Festival in Llangollen, Wales, should prove their credentials by performing in the embassy car park. This they did, splendid in their well-filled white blouses, red skirts and colourful headdresses—but even so only 28 out of 41 were granted admission, whereupon the whole group indignantly cancelled their trip. More than 50 countries send teams to the festival, and now everyone is hoping the Skopje group can participate next year, and maybe even win.—John Percival Volume 3,
