The Enduring Legacy of George Balanchine
A multi-media exhibit celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of
George Balanchine. It features photographs, designs, manuscript music
and correspondence, costumes, set pieces, and models, along with showings
of videotaped performances and rehearsals. On 3/4 at 6pm, Charles
M. Joseph gives a lecture, Poetry in Motion: Stravinsky and Balanchine's
Musical Bond.

Wall to Wall Balanchine
A day-long celebration of George Balanchine in honor of the centennial
of his birth featuring 12 hours of performances and discussions.
The program includes productions of Apollo, by the Dance Theatre
of Harlem, and Renard, by the Kansas City Ballet, and appearances
by dancers from New York City Ballet, including Alexandra Ansanelli,
Charles Askegard, Maria Kowroski, Jennie Somogyi, and others.
Isaiah Sheffer coordinates the marathon. Stars at 11am.

Peter Boal and Company
The elegant principal dancer of the New York City Ballet is known for
straying
away from Lincoln Center to do solo projects. Now, he's taking
a few dancers from the company with him for this new venture. Boal
is joined by Wendy Whelan, Sean Suozzi and Carla Korbes as they perform
works by William Forsythe (the pas de deux from Herman Shmerman)
and Twyla Tharp (Pergolosi), and world premieres by Marco Goecke

David Parker and the Bang Group
During a three-week residency, the company will create an urban folk dance
out of the movements and actions observed on-site at the World Financial
Center's Winter Garden by bringing professional dancers together with
people from the WFC community in a celebration of the power and vitality

Enemy/Territory
New York City choreographer Maura Nguyen Donohue collaborates with Hanoi-based
choreographer Le Vu Long for the world premiere of Enemy/Territory.
Two companies, creating work on separate continents, negotiate
a shared space in performance in a contest of choreographic turf
warfare in a work that investigates hostile environments. At 7pm.
